So, the Grand Prix final was set, but . . . but . . .

The ISU Grand Prix final was set (a pdf): Yu-Na Kim, Joannie Rochette, Mao Asada, Carolina Kostner, Yukari Nakano and Miki Ando. But knocking hard at the door were two Americans among the three subs: Rachael Flatt and Alissa Czisny, along with the Japanese almost Russian Fumie Suguri.

But, again, the reigning US champion was seventeenth in the ranking, while Kimmie Meissner was twenty-first.

Even worse Caroline Zhang was eleventh. Caroline Zhang is just what a floundering US figure skating least needs at this moment: she showed her fair ass at US nationals last year. She dissed her couch, Michelle Kwan; she turned her nose up at everybody and everything. I mean, what is she or who is she? Far worse, she does not know what she is or who she is. A third generation of this missy: enough already. One more event of her, and USA figure skating will be where USA bball is in my book: can kiss the blackness. International bball, yes: the home clowns, hey. If women don't want to be explicit about where they're coming from, then maybe it just does not need to be said. Man. But what is worse is when women rank women at the bottom of the respect ladder. I'd rather not partake, thanks.

But, and this is going to be painful to missy, last year's nationals lacked Emily Hughes.
