Mao Asada's start in Paris was less than had been expected as Joannie Rochette took a second gold; Carolina Kostner takes gold in Moscow

Of course, none of the headliners are in the picture above, but, busily taking it (click to enlarge) and more like it, I missed the image surfing op on the ice skaters. Sorry.

While Joannie Rochette was growing better at Skate France, Mao had a less than spectacular Grand Prix series start. Still, USA's Caroline Zhang was third and Beatrisa Liang was fifth.

Quietly, USA's Emily Hughes was ninth, but back nonetheless from last year's season ending injury. She could be just the spark needed by Team USA, particularly Kimmie Meissner who was a disappointing eighth the next week at Cup of Russia.
